#WearyWednesday

The wind howls tonight.  Rain threatens; or perhaps it has commenced.  Inside Angel’s Haven, I reflect on the lumpiness of the day.  I started early with a call to a local Toyota dealer.  Within two hours, I had reached the point of tears.

I twisted off once to talk to my neighbor about some carpentry work; and once to go out to the car and try one or two tricks that he suggested to make mysterious lights vanish from my dash.  I started work-from-home mid-morning, meanwhile fielding the occasional lob into the court of the service king.  The balls rolled to the sidelines unreturned.

I stretched my racket and hit one clear to Oregon, to the Customer Service department of the dealer’s corporate owner.  Bingo.  A service manager’s call resulted in recommending that I try the very trick that my neighbor suggested.  It didn’t work the second time.  but the SM afforded me an 8:00 a.m. appointment tomorrow.

By 6:30, I had finished my work responsibilities.  I poured cold water into my favorite short glass and read a few pages of a distracting novel, mindless but amusing.  And the wind howls.  And the rain threatens.  In my writing loft, with the darkness pressing close to the window, I sit; I wonder; I wait.

It’s the 28th day of the fifty-ninth month of My Year Without Complaining.  Life continues.
